MI Consecrations! Twenty-eight people made their marian consecration at the MI National Center on December 12, 2005, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

School Consecration!

Through the efforts of Principal Al Theis, 230 children from St. Mary of Czestochowa School in Cicero, IL, made their total act of consecration to Mary on February 2, 2006.

Redemptorist Father Peter was the main celebrant for the Mass and consecration ceremony. All the school children received their blessed medals during the Mass. Afterwards, Brother Paschal and Sandy Kisel spoke to all 1st8th grade classrooms about consecration and St. Maximilian Kolbe.

School Consecration!: Students of St. Mary of Czestochowa School, Cicero, IL, read the act of total consecration prayer during Mass time.

Notre Dame, IN

On December 8, 2005, the MI Village of Notre Dame University, Indiana, held a consecration ceremony. Sixteen young students made their consecration that day!

New York
A priest MI member writes us, "thank you for the monthly prayer intentions. Enclosed is a little something for postage, so you may continue your great work...also for Immaculata magazine-very upbeat and attractive."

California Duo
Br. Louis Schmid, ofm conv., of Marytown, visited California this past December and gave two MI presentations. The first was at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Hermosa Beach, with renewal of their marian consecration, and the second talk, December 8, at Arroyo Grande. The evening consisted of Mass, Rosary and renewal of MI consecration. Also seven new people made their consecration that day!

Michigan Thank You
A new KFC member emails: "I have had three back surgeries and one brain tumor removed in the last two years. Mary started to enter my life totally after my third back surgery. I am in trouble financially, but I also feel that Mary will provide even in the darkest hours of this most trying time. Thank you all. And my love and prayers be with you always."

MIs March for Life
Some MI members joined the battle at the March for Life in Washington, DC, this past January 23. Active young adult MI member Mary Veronica Price said, "Our Lady used her 'little' soldiers in a large way as these 'little' knights gave out 1,000 Miraculous Medals and 1,000 MI consecration brochures. "

We felt quite rewarded when we heard replies like the one from a youth upon receiving a Miraculous Medal, 'Thanks, I needed one!' We also know that Our Lady does wonders which we do not always see."

One seven-year old MI knight, Philip, was shocked when someone thought they should give him money for the medals and brochures, "I don't want the money...they can buy food or give it to the Church."

MI Prison Ministry
"Among the inmates that I minister to as a Chaplain, there is a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The 'parish' is named for Maximilian Kolbe...I would like to express thanks to your organization for all it does to promote Catholic values."

"God is Love": That is what over fifty young adults from across the U.S.A. and Canada reflected on at the MI New Year's Retreat '06 held at Marytown. There were speakers, the Sacraments, Eucharistic adoration, a social and fellowship.

Seven people from the Sponsorship Unit of Relevant Radio made their consecration to the Blessed Mother on December 8, 2005. They have "adopted" Saint Maximilian as their special patron since he was involved in the media.

MI Member Update
Remember an MI News tidbit entitled, "Denver, CO" from Immaculata issue July/Aug./Sept. '05 about Fr. Jim Goggins? Well, he is now a prison chaplain and has entered the Franciscan community out of Arroyo Grande in sunny California.

He writes, "Franciscan life is good. I'm working as a prison chaplain and love it. The work is intense and very rewarding. I often think of our friend Saint Maximilian. I had the prisoners consecrate their lives to Mary on December 8. God is good."

Wisconsin
An MI member of Little Souls for Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament MI Village, Watertown, sends a letter, "December 13, we celebrated our first Mass in a prison with Fr. Tom Coyle of St. John the Baptist church in Jefferson...a beautiful Mass to eighteen prisoners."

This MI Village has been doing prison ministry for over three years at Jefferson County Jail. They also lead rosary devotions in nursing facilities, and one-on-one visitations for their apostolic activities.

West Covina, CA: Consecration to the Immaculata, St. Columban Parish, Garden Grove, on December 12, 2005. They are members of the RCIAs team.

MIs March for Life: January 23, the day after the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade court case, many MIs gathered in Washington, DC, to witness against the atrocity of killing the unborn, along with thousands of other people who all stood up for the dignity of life.
